150603 Keswick Lake District.
Climbing up from Keswick towards Watendlath, past Ashness Bridge, one passes this viewpoint. It'd be rude not to stop on a day like this.
150603 Keswick Lake District.
Ooooh - Alpine or what. Follow the Bridleway across the river at Watendlath and up and over the hill. With care on the drainage channels. Bring a big travel XC bike. It can be 'ridden' by race types, but for full effect, it has to be taken fast. P.S. You can see all the main descent from the top of it. It does get busy!

Craig Sandham.
This descent is near Surrender Bridge. Its one of those club classics, lunch must be eaten at the bottom. This is one of those days this year that shouldn't have happened, a bright spring morning, that was warm enough to wear shorts and tee-shirt. I love the Dales...
230303 Aston Hill.
Stu Lee.
Stu and Ash raced on this day. Stu looked smooth across the road crossing. Don't know what he was like on the rest of the track.
Hey - it was March and it was hot. -

Steve Reid.
Gwydthyr Forest at Betws-y-coed is my favourite of the N. Wales trails. It kicks seven shades out of Coed-y-Brenin IMO. It's hard not to have the power down on EVERY singletrack here.

A stolen wednesday to Wales. Good mates, good trails, good weather. Great Day. One of the best days I've ever had on my bike...

Driving out for a night ride in the Hole of Horcum. One of those point and hope photos, but one with a good result.
160203 Hull Pot. Pen-y-ghent. Yorkshire Dales.
After the big ride in Hawnby, I decided to try the Captain's Epic. This involves getting up stupidly early in the morning, getting a train to Settle and riding.
The file name is the route guide. Settle -> Malham Tarn -> Mastilles Lane -> Kilnsey -> Foxup -> Pen-y-ghent -> Horton in Ribblesdale -> Settle. About 40 miles of the best the Dales has to offer. This day, it started super cold and climbing up Stockdale Lane was tough. Dropping to Malham Tarn I clipped both rims on a rocky section, cracking both rims but not puncturing. By the time I got to the shoulder of Pen-y-ghent, I was cold and knackered.

From Hull Pot, take the walking trail (with care) down towards Horton in Ribblesdale. This track is amazing. The photo is taken looking back at the trickiest rockiest bit, but most is flat out. Look out for a long straight after a gate (it makes sense when you're there) Pedal like a loon, and take the right hand line down. You'll see the jump coming at you a mile away. I've hit this FLAT-OUT and you can float for miles...

Winter in the heart of the NYM shouldn't be this good? We could see for miles this day, Steve took us on a route that took most of it in.

A bitterly cold winters day on the NYM.
250103 Holmfirth. Peak District.
Tom Wood.
Here's Tom looking decidly off-balance as he attempts the descent. The following 2 photos of him binning over the bars are also quite amusing...
110103 Kettlewell. Yorkshire Dales.
Steve cleaned this ascent on his Surly 1x1. I rate this route, running due North from Kettlewell across to Starbottom as the best in the Dales. Either way round.
040103 Chopgate. North York Moors
Steve Reid, Tom Wood
Due East of Chopgate, this climb heads up through the forest towards Blowforth Crossing.

Heading back down towards Chopgate, and waiting for a rider, the sun came out long enough to capture this. It rates as my favourite photo to date.
081202 Appletreewick. Yorkshire Dales
I forget the lane I took this from, it was a good descent, but not good enough to stop my getting the camera out to get this shot.
231102 Edale. Peak District.
Chris Fonth, Andy Booth, Stu Lee.
YUK! We missed the bridleway from Hollins Cross and ended up riding down this awful footpath. On a subsequent ride we found the bridleway, and lo! it ruled.
A club reunion ride, good to see old faces in some classic riding territory.
